Mandir History

VasantKunj Kali Mandir Samiti was set up by residents and devotees of Vasant Kunj to establish a Kali Mandir that would form the nucleus of various socio-cultural activities.

Chronology of Milestones

• 1994 - 95 Idea was broached to establish a Kali Mandir in Vasant Kunj. A Task Force consisting of Members from the various Bengali Clubs in Vasant Kunj started working the details of the Mandir.


• 2000 On 12 August 2000, Sri Sri Maa Kali was installed in the old premises (where we now have our courtyard) and the Mandir started Nitya Puja and daily distribution of Prasad.


• 2004 On 1 March 2004, ASTADHATU MURTI of Sri Sri Maa Kali was installed with invocation by Swami Gokulanandji Maharaj, Secretary Ramkrishna Mission, Delhi in the presence of Shri Bindeshwar Pathak, Chairman Sulabh International.


• 2004 - Planning and building of the new Mandir starts in 2004 and is completed in 2008
